Today starts my big four day weekend. If someone wants to do something then give me a call. Otherwise I'll be at the firehouse cooking on the new grill.

I was at the salvage yard yesterday looking at one of our cars, a trans am actually when the most spectacular thing happened. Let me set up the story first though. The trans am I was looking at was missing its hood which the auto shop has seemed to misplaced so I was going through the car making sure they didn't steal (misplace) anything else. I asked the fork lift driver to move the car out of the mud for me so I could do a more thorough look, he obliged and moved it five feet over. I then proceeded to get in the car and rummage through the pile of parts in the back seat. Crash! A flat bed tow truck drove straight into the fence where the trans am had been not five minutes before. I look up to see there is no driver in the truck as a pile of more car parts fly through the air and the metal fence is being pushed fifteen feet into the neighboring property's car.

My suspension started yesterday. For the next two weeks I can not legally drive. Other than that both school and work are going great.

Nothing of Interest
So lately I haven't really done anything of merit to write down on my blog. I'll admit it, for the time being I am leading a terribly boring life. I could spend time listing my plans for the near and far future but not even I am all that interested. In other words, for a while at least my blogging will slow down a bit.

Like A Good Neighbor...
I started my job at State Farm on Monday. It has been good so far. I am a summer intern in the Centralized Total Loss Unit. I deal with all the cars we salvage and sell at auctions. Ultimately, my goal is to make a survey to see what the buyers are looking for, where and when. Then I'll work with the IT department to develop a model that will help predict such factors so State Farm can make more money.

The Tip Jar
Sitting here at work I have come up with an ingenius idea. The tip jar! It is so simple to implement I am suprised no one has ever came up with it before. I took an ordinary translucent plastic cup and wrote TIPS with a permenant marker on one side. Then, wherever I am sitting I place the cup in front of me. I will do this at all times even if I am not doing anything to merit a monetary reward. So far I've collected 10 cents!
The crew went over to the Montgomery County Fire Academy for our Live Burn. I had a lot of fun. We all went through four evolutions and called it a day. It went by quick. Usually the instructors will go over every last detail and stretch the day out until 4 or 5 in the evening. These guys were cool though. Also, I decided if I were to leave my fire company I would join 69, another truck company who we've been taking the class with. They all seem like good, fun loving people and I think I would fit in well. They also have ambulances which is what I eventually want to get into doing. At my house though, there is so much childish behavior and backstabbing from a select few members that I feel like I am in highschool again. On a whole, Reliance isn't all that bad.
